Day 1: Arrival & Equipment Fitting

Arrive in Gulmarg. Meet your instructor. Introduction to ski equipment (boots, bindings, skis). Learn how to wear equipment and walk on snow.

Day 2: Balancing & Sliding

Learn basic stance and balance. Practice straight line sliding on gentle slopes. Learn how to fall safely and get up.

Day 3: Snowplough (Braking)

Introduction to the Snowplough (Pizza) position for speed control and stopping. Practice shifting weight.

Day 4: Snowplough Turns

Learn to turn left and right using the snowplough technique. Practice on the beginner slopes.

Day 5: Practice & Certification

Consolidate your skills. Instructor assessment. Course completion ceremony.

Day 1: Evaluation & Refresher

Assessment of basic skills. Refresher on snowplough turns. Introduction to Phase 1 slopes.

Day 2: Parallel Skiing Basics

Transitioning from snowplough to parallel skiing. Stance correction and weight transfer drills.

Day 3: Negotiating Steeper Slopes

Learning to control speed on slightly steeper terrain. Phase 1 exploration.

Day 4: Pole Planting & Rhythm

Introduction to pole usage for timing and balance. Linking turns with rhythm.

Day 5: Long Runs

Skiing down from Phase 1 to Base. Endurance and technique refinement.

Day 1: Advanced Assessment

Warm-up on Phase 1. Assessment of edge control and parallel turns.

Day 2: Carving Fundamentals

Engaging the edges. Pure carving turns vs skidded turns. Body angulation.

Day 3: High-Speed Control

Managing speed while carving. Dynamic short turns vs long radius turns.

Day 4: Off-Piste Introduction

Introduction to deep snow techniques (conditions permitting). Safety briefing for backcountry.

Day 5: Phase 2 Expedition

Skiing from Phase 2 (Apharwat Peak). Challenging terrain and long descents.
